Carolina Hurricanes traded defenseman Tyler Stahl, center Matej Stransky and left wing Oskar Osala to Toronto Maple Leafs for right wing Nikolai Kulemin and 5th round pick in 2013 draft

A native of Russia, Nikolai Kulemin was originally drafted to the NHL by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2nd round of the 2006 entry draft. He has appeared in 152 NHL games during his career, notching 33 goals and adding 48 assists along with 83 penalty minutes. The 25 year old right wing has played 70 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, totalling 11+19=30 with 26 PIM.

A native of Finland, Oskar Osala was originally drafted to the NHL by the Washington Capitals in the 4th round of the 2006 entry draft. He has appeared in 56 NHL games during his career, notching 13 goals and adding 12 assists along with 26 penalty minutes. The 24 year old left wing has played 46 games with the Carolina Hurricanes this season, totalling 11+11=22 with 18 PIM.
